NEGOTIATIONS

The art of negotiation is a skill-set, a skill-set for some that comes naturally, they are exceptional they are gifted and there are others who are proficient who require more sharpening. The one thing both these groups have in common is they both need to continually “sharpen” their skills. Practice makes perfect!

The first component to a successful negotiation is to be able to “listen”. Too many newbies as well as the seasoned speaker say too much, they get caught up with listening to themselves rather then listening to the person right in front of them. When you are with the prospective client its best to ask questions and wait for their response, chances are they will give you clues to what their business needs are, not to mention they like to be heard, after all your there for them.

It isn’t very difficult to talk yourself out of a deal when your not paying attention to the moment, when your not paying attention to who’s in front of you! Are you noticing their posture?, are they engaged with you, are you keeping eye contact? Keep in mind, Our Creator gave us two ears and one mouth.
